I don't know who maintains the FAQ, but it might be a help to note at the
bottom of the MIDI box schematic that all the parts necessary for it are
available from DigiKey Electronics. (800) DIGI-KEY I don't know about the
Gravis box, but they had everything I needed for the one listed in the FAQ
(which works great). Later...

Subject: Help with Patch Cacheing
Hi all,
Anyone know of a program which runs under windows that will allow me to
manually load any .PAT file into the GUS RAM. Actually, I need to be able
to added sets of patches. So I could add this patch and that patch and that
other patch and then have 3 patches loaded up and ready to use with my
non-patch-cacheing sequencer(Cubase/Score).
I know the GUS comes with the Patch Manager, but I can't figure out how
to load any patches other than the GM set. What if I have whole collections
of other patches and custom patches and samples(some converted from my
Roland S-550), and so forth, and I want to be able to set up a configuration
in the GUS RAM of several custom patches to be used by my sequencer. How
do I do that and with what?
It would really be cool if I could create entire custom sets(sort of alternates
to the the GM set). It would also be cool if I could create some kind of
patch loading config file for each song so that I could automatically load
in a group of patches that are needed for a particular song(the way patch
cacheing is supposed to work).
Maybe I will have to write this one myself, but I am hesitant to mess around
with Windows too much.
Thanks in advance
